WORKSHOP REVIEWS

‘I had a great day in the Glencoe area on Gary’s Workshop and came away with a great deal more technical knowledge than when I started. Gary showed us some great locations that i wouldn’t otherwise have found. I really appreciated Gary’s patient approach to teaching and as a result, I definitely had a few lightbulb moments. Thanks very much for a fun and informative day’’M.Forbes

‘‘I really enjoyed the workshop and got lots of good hints and tips especially the focus stacking which I had never considered although I had heard of it. Keep up the good work’’. A. Campbell

‘‘Location - easy to reach from most parts. Provided a variety of aspects to photograph - landscape, wildlife,sunset/sunrise .Times - good to get the range of daylight from sunrise to sunset. Distance/terrain - I personally didn't have any problems with this fitness-wise and would have been happier going a bit further. Teaching Style - the best bit for me. I came away feeling that I had learnt things, which has not often happened at workshops I've been on. This was mostly because you devoted your time to us instead of taking your own images. A recent workshop I have been would have benefited from this. Group size - I liked that there were only four of us as I think it meant we all got a fair amount of your time. Cant think of anything else off the top of my head but may add to this if anything else occurs.
But in general terms, a very worthwhile day and one of, if not the best I have attended’’.

PHOTOSHOP / LUMINAR / LIGHTROOM

Post Processing & Tuition (1-2-1 or group)

This is online training via Zoom and each session lasts 1 hour although you can book block sessions at a discounted rate. The tuition is focused directly on what you want to learn so that the time slot(s) are tailored around you and benefits you the most. Before booking I will ask you what exactly it is you are seeking from the session(s) and I will plan the lesson accordingly. Everyone want’s to learn different aspects of editing so these tailored tutorials will enable you to become more confident in the software of your choice. I have taught image editing and post processing in college for many years and to full classrooms at a time so I am well aware that everyone is at different levels when it comes to post processing and that everyone learns at different rates. Some student’s are quite advanced in their techniques where others are just starting on their journey. These sessions will allow you to focus upon what you are wanting to learn, without any pressure and have fun learning at the same time. Each session will be recorded so that you can watch again and reflect on the techniques being shown.

If it’s post processing your RAW files in one of the above software I will ask you to send me through a couple of your files and we will go step by step through them together to get the end result YOU are seeking. If you are looking for compositing techniques / tips and tricks to make you images ‘pop’ we can cover that also. Post Processing should be fun and not frustrating and you should be comfortable with the process. So whether it’s editing your landscapes or Portraits or diving deeper into compositing, I am only happy to discuss your needs.

When you book, I will send you a small questionnaire to fill in so that the tuition is tailored around you/your group and what you are seeking to learn.

Cost from £19 (1hr session) For group or block session bookings please enquire below stating the number of sessions/people in group to receive discounted rates.
